Maxton Fox & Kaolin: A Collaboration Unveiled at Saturday InDesign
This year, Maxton Fox partnered with Kaolin Porcelain Surfaces for Saturday InDesign. Our partnership combined Maxton Fox’s design expertise and joinery capability with Kaolin’s custom porcelain surfaces to create a remarkable showcase at their Alexandria showroom. Both being family-owned businesses meant instant decisions were made to make a memorable event, and the start of a great collaboration.
The event in Sydney was a huge success with over 250 visitors throughout the day, offering a full day of dynamic activations.
AGAINST THE GRAIN – GIVEAWAY!
The highlight was our product giveaway during the cocktail hour, where we presented the ‘Against the Grain’ table.
Congratulations to Isabella Parsons who was the lucky winner, we hope you love the table as much as we do!
The Against the Grain table, designed by Jacqueline Hall – Senior Associate at PTW,
and crafted by Maxton Fox and Kaolin Surfaces, served as our Project Submission for the year.
It was a giveaway that attendees didn’t want to miss.
EMERGING DESIGNER AWARD – CRITIQUE MOMENT
This year marked our third biannual Emerging Designer competition, which was all about modularity.
During Saturday InDesign the shortlisted student models were showcased.
It was during the cocktail hour where we invited the University and students to attend our Saturday InDesign experience to have the opportunity to discuss their designs with industry professionals, gaining industry exposure and the chance to dive into a professional event firsthand.
The shortlisted designs were on display throughout the entire day, with all-day voting available for industry professionals to select their favorite models. The design with the most votes will be announced soon. Maxton Fox has committed to manufacture the ‘winning design’ at our Western Sydney factory and launch the design to market.

When we needed a showroom closer to the city to fully engage in Saturday InDesign, an introduction from Brunetta (Media, Communications & Content Specialist at InDesign) led us to a fantastic partnership with Kaolin Porcelain Surfaces.
We are proud to announce that Kaolin Surfaces will showcase the Maxton Fox Range at their showroom until December.
