Create better learning spaces at Macquarie University

Modern Australian universities require flexible and exciting fit outs to help encourage out-of-the-box thinking and learning. When FDC were engaged by Macquarie University to complete a fit-out on its 123 Pitt St. address, FDC reached out to Maxton Fox to deliver its locally manufactured and tailorable Leader Workstations. Maxton Fox has an established history of delivering quickly tailorable solutions, due to its in-house design team and in-house manufacturing facility.

The Leader Workstation included sit-to-stand electronic and technician-adjustable legs, perfect for creating large classroom and more intimate collaborative spaces. Built-in pendant lighting was added to the screens to add warmth to the space with eco panelling adding an acoustic element to the workstation. To compliment the warm lighting and acoustics, a unique combination of timber veneer and eco panel was installed, also giving the timber an on-trend feel.

To ensure Macquarie University’s exact needs were met, Maxton Fox used its Sydney-based design experts and in-house manufacturing capabilities to further enhance the Leader Workstations by designing and fabricating shelving specifically for the Macquarie University fit-out, including powder-coating.

In December 2016, Macquarie University students and staff entered a new working environment, packed with innovative learning spaces and Maxton Fox’s signature Leader Workstations.

Macquarie University and FDC partnered with Maxton Fox due to Maxton Fox’s ability to provide:

  • Design team services capable of quickly fabricating and manufacturing custom solutions;
  • Bespoke furniture prototyping, design, and development; and
  • On-shore manufacturing and tailoring of imported products.

Maxton Fox provides an engaged and expert collaborative workforce that works closely with design and client teams across any project large or small.
